Yesterday, I went to see the movie, 'No strings Attached,' purely for research reasons. Who is this 20-something playwright from NYC who managed to get her script Black listed in 2008, write a pilot for a TV show for Fox, and get two deals with Universal and Paramount to write movies. I read parts of the original screenplay for NSA but didn't find it THAT convincing. It read like a witty 20-something's instant messages or texts. That's basically what the movie was. The plot was trite, overused and stereotypical. Of course they end up together at the end. Would we go see it otherwise? How many out of last night's audience would have felt the same if the ending was more akin to 'Blue Valentine'? Anyways, the entire movie, the audience (including myself) found themselves giggling at the dialogue. She must have done something right. I spent $11 on the movie and another 3.57 on a medium hot chocolate I had with my friend post-film. So I spent $14.57 yesterday on entertainment and an indulgence. Not great but I haven't bought anything online yet! And that's the goal of this experiment.
I also only had to deposit ten dollars after I visited Gilt Groupe mid afternoon to see what was on sale during a Dolce and Gabbana Sale. I really wanted to buy this Bustier top with boning by D&G for $699. Luckily, I don't have $699 in my bank account right now or I may have just gone for it.
